Introducing the industry's first truly engineered, professional-grade plate-loadable tempering roller that can be shipped right to your door. Developed for use in both clinical and athletic settings, the new Geisha Roller features a CNC-machined center piece with relief for the spinous process and thick gauge steel for the body. Using standard olympic 10 pound plates and spring collars, the roller can be loaded up to 250lbs or more. Check out this introduction video with Coach Kyle:
I highly recommend the Geisha. It's the best plate.
loadable roller available. I have a body tempering business and I've used the Geisha for many people that I've worked with in Alaska and Iceland. Everyone that I've worked with has loved the Geisha. I travel a lot with my tools and the Geisha gives me a lot of loading flexibility with still giving me great quality.
I’ve used body tempering for years & have wanted to buy this but the old version w/ the concrete was a deterrent. Now that you just add 10lb plates I finally got it & wish I had much sooner. This thing is amazing. I love that the outside (where your hands would go to roll someone) is thinner which makes it WAY easier to manage than other rollers I’ve used. This thing is fantastic
My vastus medialis (those teardrop muscles on my thighs) are always sore after playing my field sport. This hits them better and quicker than the massage gun, flossing, stretching, or foam roller. You can hit that body part using this by yourself, same thing with arms.
If you want to hit your posterior chain you’ll need a partner. It’s just me and my wife in my garage gym so it’s great the thing has a nice lip to grip so she can lift it- it your partner isn’t that strong you can put it on your back empty and then load the plates while it’s resting on your back.
Posteriorly speaking I love it for calves and upper back but it doesn’t hit glutes nearly as well as a lacrosse ball or hamstrings as well as a women’s softball if you’ve got some hot spots in those muscles.
As far as plate choice goes to load it with it’s much better to use 10 lb plates WITH holes- solid plates are awkward to put in and out and finger pinching is a reality. I bought some cheap ones with holes by Weider. Spring collars are too big to fit in the shaft plus you want strong collars so the plates wont slide out when you’re standing it up so the Proloc ones work great.
Space-wise it stands up great and does not tip over easily. You’ll want a yoga mat or gymnastics mat to lay on when doing posterior work. Donnie puts a foam roller under the ankles. When rolling it on it’s lip or tilting it you’ll want to do all that on on horse stall mats/tough flooring since it would probably leave marks on concrete.
It really helps release lower back knots in a way traditional foam rolling can not. I use it before and after leg days and I feel a difference because I don’t wake up in the middle of the night with cramps.
My only gripe is that I can only get spring collars to fit it. None of my other barbell collars will fit it due to the large diameter of the loadable pipe. It can also be difficult loading and unloading the 10 pound plates because it’s tight.
38 y/o busy dad so dont have a ton of time for stretching, foam rolling all day etc. I have been eyeing this for over a year and just couldnt pull trigger because of price. Finally did and wish I had bought it a year ago. I had been having achilles pain, bicep tendonitis, right sciatic. Traditional S pattern of issues. Started using this and achilles pain has basically vanished, bicep pain has basically vanished. Hips are aligned and working properly. Its the only thing I found I can use by myself and really dig in to the fascia that needs to be released.
Worth every penny.
