Body Tempering, also known as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization or IASTM, is an invaluable component of recovery from hard athletic training. Kabuki Strength offers some of the world’s finest tools for myofascial release work, and we are proud to carry one of the best compliments to these tools available—the DT Tempering Table. The DT Tempering Table is both portable so you can perform effective tissue mobilization anywhere as well as sturdy enough to support athlete after athlete during Body Tempering sessions.
The durable but lightweight DT Tempering Table boasts a total length of six feet and features a removable one-foot cushion that can be reattached at any location around the table to serve as either a kneeling pad for the person performing the Body Tempering or it can serve as support for the outward extension of limbs for easier rolling. The top of the table is formed with U-shaped cutout for optimum head positioning while the spine stays straight and supported; a headrest is included for maximized comfort and positioning options. Don’t waste time or energy during Body Tempering sessions struggling with poor positioning and subpar support. Maximize your recovery work with the DT Tempering Table.
I got the table from abmat but got a couple massage implements from Kabuki so feel responsible to step in here as a sport massage therapist. The only review by Jason is uneducated and unacceptable. There is no massage table in the world which is "Soft" it defeats the purpose. The idea of this mat is to hold the body firm as to not transfer the pressure to the mat. If it was a bad you would push down on a person and they would sink into the bed thus rendering your efforts useless. I can handle a body and up too 110 lbs tempering roller. I was honestly concerned the mat would be too soft and eventually absorb some of my efforts. You can use towels to fill in soft spots or bolster but remember it is a therapy device and should be used by people who know what they are doing and what to expect.
As a huge fan of Kabuki Strength and having several of their soft tissue items, this is the only one that does not meet my expectations. It is hard…very hard. So unforgiving that my girlfriends ribs were hurting after I used the Geisha on her back. The pad for the face is too short, it needs to be at least an inch thicker. Really wanted to use this but it needs to be a little softer. I would equate it to rolling out vinyl over a hard wood floor.
Hey Jason, we're sorry you had this experience with the DT Tempering Table and will provide feedback to the manufacturer, AbMat.
I am a huge fan of KS and love every other item I’ve bought from them but this is not what I was looking for. I guess it’s called a tempering table because it feels like a wooden table and has absolutely no give. I used the geisha on my girlfriend and it hurt her ribs because there was no give from the table. I was hoping for something closer to a gymnastic pad. Also the head pad needs to be about an inch thicker. If I can return I likely will.
