Many companies offer their version of the trap bar- but the Kabuki Trap Bar HD is the first and only one to offer variable and interchangable handles
An industry-first, The Trap Bar by default comes with two sets of stainless steel machined, knurled grips. Both included sets are 29mm. The grips are easily swappable for your specific training need. To add the 2" Love Handles, or pairs of 1" and 1.5" grips to your cart, please use the checkboxes at the top of the page. Additional handles may be purchased here.
The Trap Bar HD features a variable handle system that allows for a 23", 25", or 27" intra-handle width using swappable handle brackets.
Unlike most trap/hex bars on the market, The Trap Bar HD features machined and zinc-plated sleeves with 17" of loadable space. To cut costs, many trap bars use off-the-shelf DOM tubing whith a diameter that is less than a standard olympic sleeve, resulting in them being incompatible with all standard collars. Another side effect of this, is that plates fit very loosely on the under-sized sleeves, resulting in lots of shifting, movement, and clanging of the plates.
Our sleeves are machined to tight tolerances like any other standard barbell, allowing for a snug fit for plates and a compatibility with all standard barbell collars. The Trap Bar HD sleeves are detachable which allows for a compact design and reduced shipping rates.
Q:Are the end caps plastic. I often use a gym aware flex system and it won’t read the lift if the end caps are plastic. Thank you
A:Our end caps are metal. We also use and distribute the Gym Aware Flex VBT unit and it does just fine with our barbells.
Q:What is the width between the bar jacks? What is the width of the "shaft" (the distance between the sleeves)?
A: The distance between the bar jacks is 33 inches. The distance between the sleeves from where they end is roughly 33 inches. The distance between the sleeves from the beginning of the collars is roughly 43 inches.
Q: What is the benefit of fixed versus rolling 2" love handles? Is one harder than the other?
A: Yes, rolling handles are definitely harder and will challenge/train your grip strength in your hands and forearms.
Q: Hello, I would like to purchase an additional 29mm set of handles. Is this possible; if so, how much and how do I order them? Thank you!
A: Reach out to Customer Service directly at; info@kabukistrength.com and our CS Team can assist with those handles!
Q: Hi Do you ship the Trap bar to the UK? If so have you a ball park cost? Cheers Steve
Q: For the standard handles, how far above center are the top handles located? I want to get a sense for how high off the floor the handles will be when deadlifting with standard 45lbs plates on the side. Thank you!
A When I set up the Trap Bar HD with standard brackets, using Kabuki Strength 45lb plates (which are 17.7" in diameter), the top handles were roughly 13.25 inches from the ground. (Measuring to the center of the handle).
Q: What is your lead time for the trap bar HD once ordered?
A: If a piece of equipment does have a production lead time, it is listed above, under the section 'Before you buy' Please consult this section when ordering.
Watch our bar go from being welded together at our on-site manufacturing facility, straight to the gym!
Professional Grade. UNEQUIVOCALLY, THE BEST BAR in it's class. Grab a hold of this staple, because Kabuki Strength strives for perfection and that's clear once your hands touch this bar. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. Love you guys.
Received my Duffalo Bar in August. Squatting and Benching has been great with it.
When squatting I definitely feel the benefits of the camber. Just a few inches below the straight bar position has been so much easier on my shoulders.
When bench pressing, I feel the additional ‘stretch’ when lowering the bar because the range of motion is increased. Feels great.
I don't think it is even close. This is the greatest home gym purchase I have. The jack being built in is a life saver. I constantly WANT to use it. The knurling on the handles is next level great. The design is great. The bar is the most well constructed item I can think of for a gym. This isn't some bogus review just to give it 5 stars. This thing deserves every single ounce of praise it gets.
bought a blemish bar. had a few issues with the main bar being bent. customer service was awesome and got me the new parts super speedy. Bar is fantastic
This is simply the best trap bar money can buy. Thanks Kabuki!
Not only does this bar make it easy for us to load, the number of variable exercises with its open ended frame has doubled the amount of progressions we can do with it. It is our new "go-to" bar at FAST Performance in Denver!
I already like trap bar deadlifts, but this bar took the lift to all new heights! I always feel sorry for people using other trap bars now! Super easy to load and lift, I love that you can feel the muscle working while lifting instead fight to keep balance with other trap bars. If you want the best then I suggest this bar period! Also if you ever do rear elevated split squats with a trap bar this is perfect for that lift as well, and I truly enjoy bent over rows when the bar is in the loading position! I love this bar!!!
