Listen to Dr. Kelly Starrett - Kabuki Advisory Board member and world renowned clinician - as he discusses the benefits of the Kadillac Bar.
In this video, Chris Duffin takes a look a the physics behind the Kadillac Bar's primary features and discusses it's advantages over a standard swiss/football bar.
Bright Zinc: This plating option gives the classic look of a chromatic sleeve coupled with major durability.
Proprietary Matte Black Finish: Want an Kadillac Bar with a little something extra? This unique matte black sleeve finish is the result of a proprietary finishing process that that effectively transforms the surface of the steel rather than coating it. This process significantly increases the sleeves’ long-term corrosion resistance and color endurance. This finish comes with black mounting hardware for a fully black-on-black look.

Are all Kadillac bars now manufactured with the knurled handles? Does the finish differ from the ones manufactures by Rogue?
Kabuki Strength uses a rough textured powdercoat that is customized for us for manufacturing here in Clackamas. The bar that is manufactured in Ohio is Rogue's standard powdercoat, which is not as rough.
Hi, i read that there is discounts for those who are/have been in the military, does that apply to the UK military or US only?
We love the UK - and not just because you are an ally. Military/Police/Fire & all First Responders receive a 7% discount off from most of the items in our store. Charlie Ritchie handles all of our Tactical Sales and her email address is; charlie@kabukistrength.com Send her a copy of your military ID, or email from your military email address and that will serve as proof of service, qualifying you for the discount.
Hi, Does the second generation bar differ from the 1st? Thanks
Yes. The center 'X' was moved to the base of the bar, so it now touches the athlete's chest when in use. The sleeve design was changed from 3 bolt to 4 bolt. There is no difference in the performance of the bar or the maximum load capacity.
Is the collars 48 mm collars like specialty bars or are they 50 mm collars. Thank you
Any Olympic sized collars will work on the Kadillac Bar.
Do you sell blemished bars, and if so at what cost. Also do you have a shop that I could go to to pick it up, and safe shipping
If we have blemished items in stock, they would be listed on our Cosmetic Blemish page here; https://store.kabukistrength.net/collections/cosmetic-blemish
Usually, blemished items are discounted 10% of the retail cost of the product. If you are local to Portland, Oregon, the 'local pick up' option will auto-populate at check out. When selected and the purchased items are ready, our Shipping Manager will send an email with a link to schedule a pick-up appointment at our manufacturing facility. Otherwise, you can have purchased items ship via UPS, which you will see at check-out.
What are the dimensions of the Kadillac Bar during shipping?

Are you offering any veteran or military discounts?
What is the max load? I'm trying to convince our client that this is a better route than other products.
The Kadillac Bar has been load rated/tested up to 850 lbs.
Do you sell this bar in Australia. If so do you have a web page.
We do not have a separate distributor for our Kadillac Bar. However, we sell our bars all over the world - anywhere UPS delivers. Just fill out your shipping address at check-out and all shipping options will auto-populate.
Will the Cadillac bar fit with the Prime fitness HLP plate loaded rack?
It would depend on the width of that particular rack. As stated in the specs column on the product page, the Kadillac bar will fit in racks between 41.5 and 54 inches wide.
Does this bar fit in the Ghost Strong J Cup 2.0's?
Absolutely. The Ghost Strong racks and J Cups are what we proudly use at the Kabuki Strength Lab.
Do you ship to México?
Hi, I have a Titan X-3 rack with the inside width of 42". I see this bar fits 41.5" to 54". Does it mean I have 0.25" clearance on each side? It feels like the bar could hit the rack's upright during my last rep. Do you have any plans to make 41.5" even smaller to fit more racks?
Yes, that would mean that you would have 0.25" clearance on each side, so it would be tight. At this time, we do not have plans to make the Kadillac Bar rackable dimensions any smaller. However, I did introduce the idea to our VP of Operations, so he is aware of the interest.
do you ship to switzerland? or Gemany ?
Hi, do you make a Kadillac bar for 1-inch standard weights?
The Kadillac Bar sleeves are all machined to 1.959 +/- .010 (49.4mm-50.01mm). You will need to use Olympic-sized plates with all of our barbells.
Hi - does the Kadillac Bar no longer come with a hole in the center X?
Do you guys charge when the products ship? do you offer a 50% now 50% when it ships type deal?
Orders must be paid in full for them to be entered into our manufacturing and shipping queue. However, you can look at Klarna or PayPal financing at check out, if you would like to explore those options.
I have swelling in my left AC joint. Bench press with a straight bar is precarious. Pressing with my elbows inward at all causes pain. Is the kadillac bar appropriate for my issue?
Close grip bench, or benching with elbows-in on a straight bar can create a fair amount of torque in the wrist elbow and shoulder, further exacerbating issues and/or pain. Two benefits of the Kadillac Bar in relation to this issue are; 1. The specific width and angle of the handles place the wrist, elbow and shoulder in a better biomechanical position. 2. The specific curved angle of the bar, not only increases the range of motion, but more importantly helps retract and depress the scapula into a superior position for pressing mechanics. We find that a lot of our customers have less pain in multiple areas, while pressing with this bar allowing them to not only feel better, but to get stronger in safer positions.
I have the kadallic bar, and I tightened the screws with the nuts that came. I’m not sure what the Torque is because I don’t have a wrench to set it with, but would something damage the bar if it was a bit to tight, or would it just damage the screw and nut?
If you tighten them too much, it could damage the bar. However, if you hand tighten them, you should be fine.
Can you ship to Hawaii? If yes, about how much? Thanks
In order to obtain a shipping quote, we would need the full address. Please go to the product page and add the item to your online cart. Then, as you go through the check out process, you will enter your shipping address. At that time, all shipping options for that location will auto-populate. You may select the best option for your needs.
Can you perform Incline and Decline presses with this? Doesn’t seem like it’s possible? Only Bench Press?
You absolutely can perform incline and decline press with the Kadillac Bar. It's also amazing for skull crushers, curls and rows.
What's the torque specs for these bolts before I put this together? I feel like I could hulk snap them.
The torque specs are located on the assembly instructions that you received with the bar. Specifically, it states, "Do not tighten beyond 23 lb-ft of torque". If you need the instructions emailed to you again, feel free to reach out to Customer Service at info@kabukistrength.com.
what bolts are used to secure the sleeves to the base?
Here is the information for the type of bolt used for the Kadillac Bar;
Bolt type: 3/8-16 x 3.25” Hex cap screw, grade 5, zinc plated
Do you have any recommendations on what you could apply to the bar to seal any chipped powder coating?
An enamel clearcoat paint would likely help.
I have seen a version of this bar with slightly angled grips (this bar seems to have perfectly straight handle positions). Have you changed the design to reflect feedback/new data, or is that a different bar?
The Kadillac Bar does have angled handles for proper joint alignment and lat engagement. We have not changed the design. I will see if we can add another picture for better representation to the webpage.
I recently ordered a Kadillac bar. Would like to know if it will work in my power rack with a monolift attachemnent. i have the Titan T2 rack and would like to order the monolift for it. Just wanted to check because the Kadillac bar looks much thicker where it rests in the lift than a regular 29mm bar. Thanks
I looked up the specs on the monolift attachment to the Titan 2 rack and found the following;
Specifications:
- Weight: 29 LB Each | 58 LB Total
- Pin size: 15/16"
- Overall height: 21"
- Overall width: 2-1/4"
- Jaw thickness: 3/4" steel, (2) 5/8" pad
- Jaw depth: 2-1/2"
- Jaw height: 1"
- Compatible with Titan T-2 Power Racks.
- Weight capacity: 1,000 LB
If this is the correct model to which you are referring, the tube that makes up the Kadillac sleeve where it contacts the rack is 2”, so it should fit in the hooks with the listed specifications.
What are the dimensions and total weight of the package when it is shipped out? I travel to Portland semi-regularly and am wondering if I might be able to check in the package at the airport to save on shipping.
The dimensions and weight of the Kadillac Bar when packaged for delivery are; 42 x 9 x 11 inches and 50lb 4oz / 23kg
Hi, i ordered the Kadillac bar a few weeks back and just had a question before it gets here. I’ve never gotten a bar that comes in multiple pieces, do the nuts and bolts stay tightened pretty well? or would it be a good idea to toss some loctite or something on there to really keep them locked down? Thanks!
The Kadillac Bar will come with the tools needed to put the bar together and if you tighten them down well, you should not need to use Loctite. We don't use it on any of the bars in The Lab. However, I have heard of people using products like this, so if it gives you more confidence in the lift, I say do it.
Hi Do you ship to France? I want to purchase a Kadilac Barbell Thanks! Art
Hi, I am interested in the Kadillac bar. Do you offer any discount to business owners who have their own gym?
Kyle Young handles all Commercial/Facilities Sales for us at Kabuki Strength. You can reach out to him directly at kyle@kabukistrength.com and he can assist you with a draft order for any equipment.
Can the bolted sleeves handle less-controlled drops (such as Pendlay rows)?
The Kadillac Bar sleeves will withstand those drops, but we recommend exercising some amount of control when doing them, since dropping a press bar begins to get outside the realm of “normal use” covered by our warranty.
Can the Kadillac bar be stored on a vertical hanger?
Yes, the Kadillac Bar does well in vertical storage.
Will the Kadillac bar work with this power rack see link below https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FBDVJN5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
According to the specs portion of our product page, the Kadillac Bar will fit in racks that are between 41.5 and 54 inches wide. So, if the rack falls in between those measurements, the bar will fit in that rack.
How much weight can this bar handle and what is the warranty?
As for max load, it has been tested with over 1000 lbs. The warranty on our products is listed at the bottom of our webpage, but I will attach it here;
All our bars carry a lifetime warranty against any manufacturing defect. Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage, or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged plates, excessive dropping with iron plates, excessive dropping on concrete or similar surfaces, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Kabuki Strength product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Will this. Bar. Fit a. Standard Bench press
The Kadillac Bar will fit in a rack that is between 41.5-54 inches wide.
Fairly local to Portland, any discount for being able to pick up rather than have this shipped?
Yes, you would be able to get the shipping portion of your order refunded! You can make a note in your order that you'd like to pick it up at The Lab when it is ready and we will reach out when it's done and set an appointment for you to come in. We refund you for your shipping when we put the bar in your hands. I hope this helps!
Are you able to split the payment method into different options?
Unfortunately, our online store only accepts one form of payment. If you would like to use more than that, you will need to reach out to customer service at info@kabukistrength.com
How much to ship the kadillac bar to pearl city hawaii
Does this kadillac bar have the same knurling as the power bar?
The Kadillac Bar does not have knurling.
Are you shipping to germany?
Do you guys ship to Australia?
Do Olympic sized weighs and collars both fit perfectly on the Cadillac bar?
That is correct!
If I ordered a cadiliac bar are they available still And are you guys open to ship out
If a product has a lead time, it is located near the top of the product page in a section titled, 'Important Notes'. There you can see that the current manufacturing lead time for a Kadillac Bar is 6-7 weeks. Yes, we are manufacturing Monday through Friday, as well as Saturday mornings. Shipping occurs Monday through Friday at 3pm for UPS pick up and 4:30pm for USPS.
I have the PRX Profile folding squat rack. It measures exactly 41.5" inside-to-inside the J-cups. How much sleeve clearance will that leave between the rack and the inside hub of the sleeve? Or perhaps another way to ask the question - what's the measured distance of inside sleeve hub-to-inside sleeve hub on the bar? Concerned it would be a snug fit which could make re-racking heavy weights challenging.
The measurement you are looking for is 40.5, so it will be a tight fit with 1/2 inch clearance on each side.
Does it come in red
The Kadillac Bar does not come in red. The only powdercoat option is what you see on the website.
Do you have any used, returned or blemished kadillac bars for sale?
We do not have any blemished items available at this time. However, if you go to our website and over to the 'Equipment' tab, you will see a section in the dropdown window called, 'Cosmetic Blemish'. If you click on that, it will take you to a page with all of the items that occasionally have cosmetic blemishes. Select the item you are interested in and if there aren't any in stock, it will give you the option of signing up for an emailed alert for when one comes into stock. Cosmetic blemish items are rare and we never know when we will have them in stock, so if you receive an alert email my advice would be to purchase immediately.
Would this take stress off of surgically repaired shoulders in favor of putting more stress on the tri's?
Due to the extremely individual and medical nature of this case, we're not able to provide a specific answer. However, if pressing with a neutral grip feels better for your shoulders (this can be tested with dumbbells), then this bar should have a similar effect.
What is the max load can the bar handle?
As for max load, it has been tested with over 1000 lbs.
Looking at the Kadillac bar-to alleviate pain when I bench. The pain is in the rear of both shoulders when I use a traditional bar. My concern is since the bar is angled will it place my shoulders in a bad place when I completely lower the bar as I bench? The few pictures I have found of people benching with this bar appears to place there hands below chest level when they are at rock bottom. I also looked at flat multi grip bats that wouldn’t go as deep I am just trying to make an informed decision.
Based on this limited information, the first step would be to identify whether benching with a neutral grip reduces the pain that you're describing. This can be easily tested by doing some neutral grip presses with dumbbells and if so, I would test the range of motion and see if the pain is ROM dependant. The camber of the Kadillac bar will allow you to go lower than a traditional straight bar and if that extra range of motion causes issues, then I would not suggest using the Kadillac bar until you're in a situation where that is not the case.
Would this bar be a good alternative to others bars to bench with for someone with shoulder injuries (labrum tear)?
This bar is an excellent pressing bar for someone with shoulder issues. Chris talks about the bar and how it will put you in the right shoulder position here; https://youtu.be/hpi01wQq3yg
You could technically spin this bar around and have somewhat of a supinated grip vs the pronated grip you see in all the pics, correct?
Absolutely! It is a very popular thing to do.
Does the Kadillac bar fit in a standard power rack for bench press
Yes, it will fit in a standard power rack. As stated on the product page, the Kadillac Bar fits racks between 41.5-54 inches.
Does the bar tend to tip upside down in the jcups when loaded with plates? I notice that my unloaded Duffalo does tip over, but it does not tip over once there are plates on the sleeves.
I loaded the Kadillac on two different racks within The Lab and it leaned against the J-cups when loaded, but stayed upright. When it is in the back of the cup and against the tall portion, it is steady with 135+lbs. The bar may react differently within different racks, however.
Can you ship this to the uk
Yes, the Kadillac Bar can be shipped to the UK. Just enter your shipping address at check-out and all shipping options available to you will populate, so that you can select the one that is best for your needs. Most of our international customers prefer UPS's Worldwide Expedited Shipping option, due to the fact it covers customs brokerage fees in most countries.
how effective is this for prone bench rows. Triceps extensions and shoulder press. Is there anymore videos Cheers
This bar works really well for prone bench rows, because the curvature of the bar allows it to clear more distance at the bottom of the bench. It can also be used for skullcrushers, though there would be no inherent benefit to doing that over a bar with similar grips. It can also be used for overhead press and athletes here at The Lab do that from time to time, but it wouldn't be very different from overhead pressing with another neutral grip bar. We have a number of videos on our socials, as well as on kabuki.ms, but the bar is relatively new so more will be in the works.
Is this bar redundant [for a home gym] if I have the Duffalo bar?
Not whatsoever. The next best purchase for a pressing bar would definitely be the Kadillac Bar. Last week Chris Duffin had an Instagram post that talked about this bar and 'playground physics'. It details how the grip angles on this bar were designed to keep the shoulders in a superior position of external rotation during pressing movements. Take a look at the link: https://www.instagram.com/p/B3x0rt7h6S1/
I'm local and was wondering if I can purchase and pick up rather than shipping it across town.
Yes, you can absolutely pick up barbells and IASTM tools at The Lab. When you place your order you will see a section called, 'Order Notes'. Let us know you would like to pick up your item(s) in person and list an email and phone number. We will contact you as soon as your order is ready and schedule a time for you to come in. Our order system will still charge shipping at the time of the transaction, however we will refund it when you pick up your item(s).
Can the kadillac bar be used for bent over rows or does it want to “flip over” like the duffalo bar?
The Kadillac Bar and the Duffalo Bar are both amazing for bent-over rows. However, the Duffalo Bar does require substantially more grip strength in rowing movements. Therefore, if you find it challenging but love the ergonomic position that the bar puts your shoulders in, you will love the Kadillac Bar for all movements including bent-over rows. Not only does it have 3 different grip widths, but because of the neutral angle, it will not challenge wrist or forearm strength to the level that the Duffalo Bar will.
Good afternoon.. i have a trap bar on order, if I order a kadillac bar can I combine shipping? Thank you Kevin Grunzweig
Unfortunately, we would not be able to combine 2 bars into one shipment. Each one of our bars is packaged and shipped separately in order to protect the bar. Moreover, this results in better shipping rates for our customers, since they are based off weight and dimension. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Hi guys, do you ship to Australia. If so, how much for shipping to Australia, Melbourne Victoria 3189? Is it more financial on shipping to purchase multiply bars? Example, 2 Cadillac bars & 2 trap bars.
We absolutely ship to Australia. However, all bars ship separately. For shipping estimates, please email the full location address to info@kabukistrength.com, including the bars you would like to have shipped. Thank you!
Trying to figure out how to do squats with it.
We wouldn't recommend it, but let us know how that goes if you take it for a test drive/squat. Back squats may not be that comfortable, but a front/goblet squat might work. Tag us in your social media, if you post it!
Can you use this bar for military presses
Yes, you can!
Is the Kadillac bar solely for bench press or can you utilize it for for other movements such as skull crushers for triceps or even curls for biceps?
You may use the Kadillac Bar for a number of movements! One of our coaches was just using it at The Lab for skull crushers today and it was outstanding! People have been using it for curls and I've even seen them get creative with overhead press, as well as lat pull downs.
Are the handles knurled?
The handles on the Kadillac bar are a texturized powdercoat that feels like grip tape.
What is the max and min rack width that the bar is able to be racked in?
The rack J-cups should be a minimum of 41.5" apart (from the inner side) to a maximum of 54" apart (measured from the outer side).
How do you rack this? Do you have to load the weights from the floor then lift it up on your stomach and press or can this fit on a normal bench rack?
The Kadillac Bar fits in a standard bench rack.
Does the V3 bar have knurled handles if purchased from Kabuki strength or only if purchased from Rouge?
The V3 does come with knurled handles, no matter where it is purchased. The V2 does not.
What is the difference between the V2 & V3 kadillac bar?
The biggest difference is the V2 does not have knurled handles. It is coated with a powdercoat that is designed to be like grippy grip tape. The V3 does have knurled handles and does not have the grippy powdercoat.
